Through collaboration, creativity and sustainability, we’re driving lasting change in Franklin County. From demolition to delivery, our work is guided by three key pillars: Removing Barriers, Reusing Land, and Rebuilding Communities.

Removing Barriers

COCIC was designed to eliminate obstacles that hinder growth and opportunity in Franklin County.

Vacant, neglected and unsafe properties take a toll on a neighborhood’s vitality. Through targeted efforts, we clear these barriers, paving the way for renewal and reinvestment.

Transforming underutilized and contaminated spaces into usable, safe land is central to our mission. By addressing environmental concerns, we unlock potential for new developments and community use.

Local, state and federal grant programs provide critical resources for transforming unproductive spaces. By serving as the lead entity for Franklin County, COCIC secures funds for revitalization projects.

Reusing Land

Breathing new life into idle properties is a cornerstone of our work.

We support the community-wide efforts to strengthen our transportation and mobility corridors. In doing so, we’ve become a critical partners in the reclamation and redevelopment of our urban centers.

Development
From small businesses and community gardens to single family housing and industrial complexes, we work with developers and community partners to reinvigorate communities.

Honoring the past while building for the future is essential. When it makes sense, we are catalyst for the preservation of historically significant properties in Franklin County.

Rebuilding Communities

Stronger neighborhoods mean a stronger region.

We support the community-wide efforts to strengthen our transportation and mobility corridors. In doing so, we’ve become a critical partners in the reclamation and redevelopment of our urban centers.

We address housing challenges by creating pathways to homeownership and ensuring permanent affordability for those at or below the area’s median income.

We don’t do this alone. Our collaborations with public and private partners, as well as strategic funding initiatives, amplify our ability to build thriving, inclusive communities.
